I am a 59 year old wife, mum and granny of three who was a bookseller for many years and I live in Boston in Lincolnshire. I became passionate about Italy after doing an Open University degree in art history in my forties . One of my favourite modules was one about Renaissance art in Florence, Siena and Padua. Shortly after I graduated I won a competition in Woman and Home magazine and went off to Florence to study art history at the British Institute for two weeks. That was it. I was hooked. I have returned to Italy time and time again and go even more often now that I have become a travel writer. I still love art history but have also become fascinated by Italian food and how it varies from region to region and how Italians consider that eating fresh tasty food is a way of life. I have accumulated many books about Italian food and have visited some great areas such as Piedmont where the Slow Food Movement started and where I was lucky enough to go on a truffle hunt. I hope to have many more foodie adventures and share them with all you like minded people out there.
